Volunteer With Us in One of Literacy Classes
Tuesday through Thursday (day) 9:00 - 12:00 pm
Tuesday and Thursday (night) 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Volunteers are welcome to park in the parking lot beside the school or across the street by Henderson Park.
All volunteers need to check-in at the office and have an office staff member walk them down to a classroom.
Volunteer opportunities are varied by day and time and can range from one hour to three hours per day.
Anyone volunteering at the B/CS Community Education Center needs to come dressed business casual and always needs to check in at the office. State law requires that all visitors speak to a staff member in the office immediately after they come to campus.
We offer volunteering opportunities through our literacy classes. We offer Reading, ESL, and High School Equivalency Classes.
Please be advised our office has a wall of windows and a circular driveway in front of it. Volunteers are welcome to park in the parking lot beside the school or across the street by Henderson Park. The circular driveway parking is used by staff.
All volunteers need to check-in at the office, have their sign-in sheet, and have an office staff member walk them down to a classroom. We distribute the volunteers between the Reading Classes, ESL Classes, and High School Equivalency Classes, so there is an equal number. If volunteers could arrive about five to ten minutes before their scheduled observation, so we may have adequate time to walk them down to class, that would be great.
Please be advised volunteers could be asked to assist the teachers.
On behalf of our staff, thank you for choosing to volunteer your time at the B/CS Community Education Center. We wish you the best!
